The Gambling Business Group is working with its members to help shape the industry’s direction of travel.
The Gambling Business Group, is preparing its strategic response to the review of the Gambling Act with the formation of four member-led Working Groups to analyse specific elements of what represents a once in a generation opportunity to establish a framework for gambling regulation that’s both relevant and appropriate to the needs of players in a digital age.
The Sub-Groups, which met for the first time this week, cover Advertising Sponsorship and Branding; The Gambling Commission – Role, Resources and Remit; Age Limits, Verification and Safer Gambling as well as one dedicated exclusively to Land-Based Gambling.
Peter Hannibal, Chief Executive of the Gambling Business Group underlined the importance of the industry making a full contribution to a process that will define the future of gambling in the UK. He explained: “We are drawing on the wealth of experience and knowledge that exists within the industry to form working groups to focus on specific areas as identified. Not only will the outputs form the collective GBG response for that section of the review, but the dialogue we are having is also invaluable for GBG Members to take back and use with their own individual responses to the call for evidence.”
