These days I do believe that consultants offer a spontaneity, originality and cost effectiveness which is of huge benefit to all businesses but in particular SMEs where costs are tightly controlled and management need access to senior management experience experience but can’t necessarily afford (or need) to recruit someone on to their permanent staff.

Three guys who used to work for me have recently set themselves as consultants in the Gaming sector and it would be churlish of me not to mention them. Particularly as I rate them highly!

Firstly Chris Drake, both a bingo operator of many years experience and more latterly a first class broadcaster and radio ‘host’ he has now established a business aimed at providing ‘in house’ radio services to the retail and gaming sector. Chris set up and ran Jackpot FM for me at Praesepe and is now CEO at Verve Broadcasting www.vervebroadcasting.com He has been round the block several times and knows his stuff, trust me.

Secondly Byron Evans, a work colleague of mine for thirty years (spanning three different companies and hundreds of venues) and one of the most knowledgeable planning, licensing and compliance people in the low stake high volume gaming sector. He is now available for consultancy in all three areas of the business. He also excels at Business Development and general commercial issues so must be regarded as a ‘one stop shop’. www.bevansconsult.com

Lastly, Phil Gibbs, Marketing and Promotions Guru (and also a great bingo operator) has also decided to plough his own furrow and can be found at www.pgconsultancy.net Phil has an uncanny ability to think outside the box and to come up with clever original marketing strategies which he always delivers swiftly ( a quality which I value highly).
